The Dar-ol-Quran Karim Organization, which is affiliated to the Islamic Development Organization, held the gathering.

The participants offered reports on the organizations’ plans for holding various Quranic activities in Ramadan.

They stressed the need for making the most of the available capacities of all Quranic bodies in order to hold high quality Quranic events in the holy month.

The potentials of mosques and home-based Quranic circles should be tapped, the officials said at the meeting.

They also highlighted the need for using the capacities of the Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition, as well as Dar-ol-Quran centers, universities and schools.

The Tehran International Quran Exhibition is annually organized by the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in Ramadan with the aim of promoting Quranic concepts and developing Quranic activities.

Ramadan (March-April this year) is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. It is a period of prayer, fasting, charity giving and self–accountability for Muslims around the world.

The Quran was revealed to the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) heart in this month.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.

They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.

In Iran, various Quranic programs, including exhibitions, Quranic circles, Quran interpretation sessions and competitions are held every year in the holy month.
